The Association of University of New Brunswick Teachers AUNBT, certified in 1979, is one of the first faculty federations in Canada to become a union certified under current provincial labour law. It is the bargaining partner for a unit of “people employed in full-time teaching or employed as librarians at the University of New Brunswick on their campuses in Fredericton and Saint John… with the exception of deans, associates or assistants, persons who are above the ranks of deans, university librarians, faculty members who are members of the Board of Governors and persons excluded by the Industrial Relations Act. THE AUNBT bargaining unit has about 600 members – teachers, trainers and librarians.
